Based on the name and description of this candle, I was expecting a dry potpourri impression of scented pinecones but I was pleasantly surprised by a much different fragrance. Instead, on cold this smells like fresh green, almost wet, pine needles with airy cinnamon. Typically "holiday" cinnamon would imply a red-hot baking cinnamon scent but this is much closer to walking past a bowl of cinnamon sticks, which is why I think the description states "autumnal cinnamon". Both the fresh green pine and cinnamon sticks come together in a very straight forward manner to create a fragrance that is great for cold weather days in both fall and winter rather than being tied to a specific holiday atmosphere. Upon burning, the cinnamon comes through much more than the pine on first impression. After the cinnamon, the pine comes through to give the fragrance a cold outdoorsy feel. Maybe in the background there is some detectable walnut or chestnut but it is very subtle, if at all. In addition, this is a STRONG fragrance, which is mostly due to the cinnamon. The simplicity of this scent allows it to permeate all throughout the house without much trouble. In conclusion, this is a pleasant, straight-forward, and strong fragrance that invokes more the cold seasons than it does the holidays, which allows for more versatility throughout the year.
